Allocations for School Supplies

If you have at least one child 6 to 18 years of age and the child is your dependent, and your resources do not exceed certain limits, you may be entitled to l’Allocation de Rentrée Scolaire (ARS).

The Conditions For the 2009-2010 "la rentrée" your child must be born between September 16, 1991 and January 31, 2004. A teen who is a student or apprentice must earn less than 55% of SMIC: 819.82 € monthly gross. Children aged 6 years or up to 6 years old before 1 February 2010 must be enrolled in primary school and your income for 2007 must not exceed:

* 1 child 22 321 € * 2 children 27 472 € * 3 children 32 623 € * Add per additional child € 5 151

If your income exceeds these base limits, you will receive a reduced allocation, calculations are based on your income.

The Amount The amount of the ARS depends on the age of the child. It is: * € 280.76 euros for a child 6 to 10 years * € 296.22 euros for a child aged 11 to 14 years * € 306.51 euros for a child 15 to 18 years

How to obtain ARS If you are already a recipient, you simply have to20report your income to your 2007 tax department or your caisse nationale des Allocations familiales (CAF). If you are not recipient, you must complete an enrollment forms and return it to your CAF. The ARS is paid to you and automatically ends August for children aged 6 to 16 years. For those aged 16 to 18 years, payment occurs when they return a status report justifying their education or learning program.
