Christophe Lemaître is from one of the most beautiful towns in the Rhône-Alpes, Annecy, the town elected for the french bid to 2018 Winter Olympics.
Christophe never thought of being a super athlete or champion runner, but he is setting records. He was discovered by the athletics coach at his school at the age of 15 and the rest is HIStory!
At the age of 18 in 2008, where he won the French Junior Championship 100m with a time of 10.26s and then most impressively, winning at the World Junior Athletics Championship in the 200m with a time of 20.83.
We reported on our website when Lemaître, on July 9, made a historic race running the 100 metres in under 10 seconds, at 9.98s. The next day he tied the French record in the 200m with a time of 20.16s.
Watch out Usain Bolt, he has just won the European Championships in Barcelona, and he is only 20 years old. At the same age, neither Asafa Powell nor Carl Lewis had run as fast. Both Powell and Lewis are multiple gold medal record setting champions!
