“Pink Glove Video” Goes Viral

The latest viral video to become a hit on YouTube is not only entertaining, it’s saving lives. It’s called the “Pink Glove Dance” and it was put together by an unlikely group of performers.

The video spotlights numerous staff from the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon wearing pink latex gloves. In an attempt to raise money for breast cancer, the 200 doctors, lab techs, administrators, kitchen and janitorial staff dance and sing to Jay Sean’s R&B song "Down".

The clip was produced by MEDLINE®, who produce the gloves featured in the video. A portion of sales proceeds go to fund mammograms for uninsured women.

P.S.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) was introduced as a worldwide campaign in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder and has continued to grow as an annual event ever since. The pink ribbon associated with the campaign has become an internationally recognised symbol for breast cancer awareness. The event promotes breast cancer awareness as essential in early diagnosis, and continues with the plight to raise awareness and funding for research and development in breast cancer care.
